How the EU affects you in Wealden

Do you know that your Post Office, farming and green belt fields are all threatened by the EU?

Post Offices are vital community centres, now at risk everywhere. Their subsidies are to be cut, forcing many to close. Why? Because we must comply with EU competition laws.

Farming. Small farms which predominate in the South East cannot comply with EU legislation and the Common Agricultural Policy, many face bankruptcy and sale of assets. These small farms are prime development land.

Housing. Wealden towns and villages are facing large high density housing projects in the green belt - from the unelected South East England Development Agency (SEEDA). Your turn next? Out of control immigration makes the housing demand endless.

Do you know that the EU wants to rules us through regional government which is exempt from the Freedom of Information Act?

Do you know that your Council Tax, which goes up every year by more than the rate of inflation, could be reduced if we leave the EU? Taking into account direct contributions, Common Agricultural Policy, loss of our fisheries, cost to the economy of EU regulations - the EU costs every British family some £700 a year. Half of this would make a healthy reduction in Council Tax.
